Arishi - Kaitsu: Scythe and Meister

"Ladies, are you just going to stand there and stare at me all night? Or are you actually going to attempt to do something?" A glowing eye peered out of the bandages wrapped around a sickly pale skinned head.

"Sorry," the voice of the brunette standing casually before the bandaged kishin spoke, "I was just wondering why every kishin we've come across is so unbelievably ugly! I mean, seriously."

"Yeah! Honestly, you'd think at least one of you might be at least a little bit attractive! I find it really hard to concentrate with something as ugly as what we usually get as a target." A blonde girl with an asymmetrical haircut complained. She was shorter than the brunette, but her smug expression mirrored her partners.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you." Sneered the kishin, whose form was a demented and twisted hourglass shape, ribs standing out from his nearly anorexic torso. He was Stanley the Stretcher, a serial killer known for stretching his victims to death, and was also the target of two students of the ever so infamous DWMA.

"Don't worry, we won't have to put up with you for much longer." The brunette grinned and reaching out a hand said, "Kaitsu, transform."

"Yes ma'am!" Kaitsu grinned even wider than her meister, and then in a flash, proceeded to transform into a mirror smooth blade; a handle-less and prominently curved blade, just slightly smaller than her meister.

"This should be over quickly, you two are far too cocky." Hissed Stanley the Stretcher as he let a out a soft rasping cackle. In one swift motion he flung himself forward, drawing out long claws and making a slash for the brunette. She easily twisted the over sized steel crescent to deflect them and the kishin growled.

"You're right, this should be over quickly. But I think you're the one who's cocky." The young meister narrowed her eyebrows menacingly, and then with a swift and sweeping motion, gracefully flung her weapon at the kishin in a flash of spinning steel. The blur of metal whirled at the kishin with deadly speed, but the kishin leapt out of the way, the blade only slicing through a trail of his long and greasy hair.  

"You missed your shot. Now it's my turn." The kishin was now grinning wider, exposing jagged and jumbled yellow teeth.

"Not quite." The brunette said with a calm and confident tone. "Three."

"What?" The kishin sneered, annoyed with the meister.

"Two."

"What are you mumbling about?" He growled, and then his eyes widened as he heard the hissing of air and then turned to see the weapon returning in a white slash of light.

"One." The blade split through the kishin, causing scarlet blood to splurt in every direction. It continued on spinning until her meister caught her and spun her, diffusing the force of the weapon's speed. Kaitsu transformed and landed casually on her feet with a wide toothed grin. The meister and weapon watched as the kishin split completely in two, before it shredded in every direction and vanished with a scream, leaving only a glowing red soul behind.

"You'd think the guy had never seen a boomerang before. Everyone knows a boomerang always comes back." Kaitsu said with pursed lips, and then giving her meister a friendly punch in the arm said, "Smooth moves Arishi! I think you're getting better!"

"And I think you're getting sharper, you're wearing through my gloves ." Arishi flexed her fingers, which were garbed in worn leather fingerless gloves.

"You need new gloves. You've had those for two years! Of course they're wearing through!" Kaitsu shrugged and stretched.  

"Yeah sure... Anyway, are you going to grab that soul?"  Arishi pointed at the hovering red kishin soul.

"Yep. Hey, do you remember what homework the professor gave us?" Kaitsu skipped forward and collected the soul with a smile.

"I think it was to read a couple chapters of the human anatomy book he gave us."

"Oh, great... More anatomy." Kaitsu groaned, and then started walking down the cobblestone street.

"Yeah, I'm really hoping that this dissection thing with Professor Stein is just a phase." Arishi shivered a bit and followed her weapon.

"Me too. It's really creepy." And with that, the two DWMA students walked home to start their studies. ~
